Brownstone Trail by the Wild Rice Retreat October
- Cut exposed roots and use hand tools to fine-tune the drainage work that was recently done by the dozer.
- Dig out and remove several small stumps that are tripping hazards along the new segment that was started last year and recently mulched, leveled and largely cleared of stumps.
- Put in water diversions to reduce down-trail erosion during heavy rains.
- To stabilize the walking surface, reconfigure rocks that have been placed in a deep drainage that crosses the trail.
- Identify and evaluate potential locations for seeding and calculate areal extent to determine amount of seed that would be needed.
TOOLS:
- Please BYOT (bring your own tools with identification on them)
- Needed for this project: Gloves, mattock, Pulaski, grub or rogue hoe, McLeod (for tamping), shovel, hard garden rake, loppers
